Kehoe, Romanchuk invited to Women's National Festival

Two NCAA Division I women's players from California - Kristi Kehoe (Bakersfield) and Paula Romanchuk (San Jose) have been invited to participate in the 2010 USA Hockey Women's National Festival, which runs from Aug. 13-21 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Kehoe will be a senior at Northeastern this fall. She has scored 76 points in 98 collegiate games. Romanchuk will be a junior at Princeton and has scored 44 points in 62 college games.

The Festival will feature a 22-player squad that will train both on and off the ice at the Olympic Center and Olympic Training Center. Also participating in the Festival will be the 2010 U.S. Women's Under-22 Select Team and the 2010 U.S. Women's Under-18 Select Team.

Katey Stone
will serve as the head coach for the Festival team, with Mark Hudak, head women's ice hockey coach at Dartmouth College, and Maura Crowell, head women's ice hockey coach at the University of Massachusetts Boston, as assistants. Hudak previously served as a coach at the 2006 USA Hockey Women's National Festival, while Crowell will be making her Festival debut after having previously assisted at Player Development Camps.

Highlighting the roster for the Festival are 12 members of the silver medal-winning 2010 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team, including four-time Olympian Jenny Potter (Edina, Minn.) and three-time Olympian Julie Chu (Fairfield, Conn.).

The veterans will be joined by Festival newcomers Kehoe, Romanchuk, Kate Buesser (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Leanna Coskren (Walpole, Mass.), Rachel Davis (Horton, Mich.) and Felicia Nelson (St. Paul, Minn.).
