Kings' youth camp returns in August
LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Kings Fan Development department announced it will hold the 21st Annual Los Angeles Kings Youth Hockey Camp, Aug. 8-14 at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo (555 N. Nash Street).
The camp will be hosted by Kings alumnus and radio color commentator Daryl Evans. Also scheduled to appear as instructors are Kings alumni Nelson Emerson and Ian Turnbull, members of the Kings coaching staff and current Kings players Dustin Brown, Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene. Former Kings netminder Jamie Storr will be the head goalie instructor. (All players and instructors are subject to change.)
The camp begins Sunday, Aug. 8 with an orientation and ends Saturday, Aug. 14 with an entertaining “game day.” Registration is $575 per camper.
Sessions run from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes two and a half hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of dry land instruction on the roller hockey rink. All campers will receive a personalized Kings Camp jersey, a comprehensive Kings Camp DVD and two tickets to a 2010-11 Kings regular season game. Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday.
