Reign re-signs Kraus
ONTARIO – The Ontario Reign, the ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announced that they have re-signed center Tim Kraus (Garden Grove) to a standard player contract for the 2010–2011 season.
Kraus, 23, started his professional career in 2008 with the Reign, splitting a three-way tie for the team high of 48 points scored in the regular season and leading the team in assists with 33 during his rookie year and Ontario’s inaugural season.
This past season Kraus led the Reign in assists with 37 and recorded 53 points, the second highest on the team.
In two seasons with the Reign, the center has accumulated 101 points (31 goals, 70 assists) and 146 penalty minutes in 143 games with the club.
“Ontario is the best place to play in the ECHL,” Kraus said. “We have the best fans.”
Kraus, who scored 266 points during five seasons in the WHL, cited several other factors in his decision to stay in Ontario for a third season.
“I’m from Southern California and I’ve had two good seasons there. I love playing for (Reign head coach) Karl (Taylor),” Kraus said. “I was pretty bummed that we didn’t make the playoffs last year and I want to redeem myself.”
